On April 14, Thalia Book Club at New York’s Symphony Space held a retrospective commemorating the thirtieth anniversary of the book’s English-language publication. Now, three decades after its initial publication, the book has inspired countless writers while generating plenty of criticism. But it’s also a study in the narrator’s fraught connection with her family and the cultural fissures in French-colonial Indochine. Duras eventually washed her hands of the film, which focused mainly on the erotic elements of the story-and indeed the novel’s depictions of sex receive an outsize portion of attention. When Duras claimed that the novel was entirely autobiographical, it became something of an international sensation. If the book, at just over a hundred pages, reads like the hazy, disconnected musings of a seventy-year-old writer looking at faded snapshots of her past, that’s because it is. The Lover, Duras’s forty-eighth work, was published in France in 1984 the English translation arrived in the United States a year later. She’s outgrown childhood and has poured her body into oversize markers of adulthood the conclusion of the ferry ride signals the start of her sexual awakening, as she first glimpses the chauffeured black limousine that belongs to the twenty-seven-year-old Chinese businessman, the novel’s eponymous lover. since 1998 i didn't had virus or anything happen to my hdd and the windows stays installed at least 2 years so i got stupid and didn't back-it-up. i know it's my fault too because i didn't back-up the music.
all my music, all 5.000 mp3 of it is all messed up like in a blabla-blabla.mp3 are 3 different parts from 3 diffrent songs. when i booted windows it did a chkdsk and when i enter the partition all hell broke loose. after reboot my got an error that the partition was with errors and gparted didn't want to touch it before i run a chkdsk /f in windows. Last night when i was resizing my partition a power shortage rebooted my computer.
